Dr. Duan, the Chief Engineer of CCPGE, was invited to attend the CSA Z662 Design Technical Subcommittee meeting from 29 – 31 March, 2022, and CSA Z662 Materials Technical Subcommittee assembly held from 5 – 7 April, 2022 as a Design Technical Subcommittee guest and Materials Technical Subcommittee member. Dr. Duan delivered a well-received presentation on stress criteria of unrestrained pipes in pipeline design during the meeting. This presentation has drawn the keen interest of all participants and has been considered as one of the improvements for CSA Z662-2027. One of major items in the 2022 spring CSA Z662 Technical subcommittee meetings was to discuss and respond to over 600 public review comments for the draft of CSA Z662-2023 edition, the official version of which is scheduled to be published on June 2023 in English and December 2023 in French.
